I cannot believe that in 8 weeks (or less) I will become a first time mom. While I cannot explain how excited I am to welcome little Ralph into our family (Wade and the puppy brothers are getting excited too), I am also somewhat terrified as I do not know what to expect. Fear of the unknown? For sure.
Thankfully, I recently discovered the app, Peanut. Think Tinder but for moms and moms-to-be. The Peanut app is so simple. All you do is download, connect through Facebook, enter a description of yourself, fill in your interests/location and the Peanut app does the rest. Once in the app, all you have to do is ‘wave’ (swipe up), to moms you would like to connect with. You can chat/set up coffee dates or even create group polls (example: which diapers are the best to get you through the night). So cool, right?
Peanut allows you to connect with like-minded moms and moms-to-be in your neighborhood that also have babies or ‘peanuts’ around your babies age! Now that I am 31 weeks, the Peanut app has already come in handy when I have a question regarding my little ‘Peanut’, Ralph. I know this app is really going to be my go-to after baby Ralph’s arrival because I know I am going to have 10000 questions that only moms who are at the same stage as me are going to be able to answer!
It is so comforting to me that I will not only be able to begin this new role as a mother with my best friends (we are all having babies within months of each other) but also other women that live in my area! Beyond thankful for the women who started @Peanut who are paving the way for moms and moms-to-be, like me!
