As you know by now we moved into our house last fall and have been living through renovations and the decorating process ever since. To say that it has not been trying would be a lie but as phase one comes to a close Wade and I walk around looking at what all has been accomplished this far and smile.

We really smile for two reasons. First, that it is quite, because you guys when people are in and out of your house almost every single day for over 5 months, it’s annoying. You are 100% at the mercy of someone else schedule (yayyy contractors), people show up randomly at all hours (yes, our doorbell rang multiple times at 6:45 AM) and your house is constantly dirty (dust, everywhere).

Secondly, because of how the spaces are coming together and just how happy we are with them. Just to be upfront, we could not have done this by ourselves. I mean maybe Wade could of if he really wanted to, but me? NO WAY. When it comes to anything interiors related my mind shuts off, like completely. I get this weird anxiety and cannot make a decision whatsoever.

Thankfully, during last summers house hunt, we were introduced to the oh so talented interior designer Cindy Sontag. Cindy really has been the biggest blessing throughout this entire process because not only is she the most talented person I know but Cindy has brought our rough ideas (we like blue. – yes, this was a real sentence I said to her) and transformed them into beautiful, livable spaces.

The first space that I am going to share with you all is our powder bathroom. This is one of my favorite little spaces in our house. As I mentioned, we are big ‘blue and white’ people, so Cindy Sontag took our love for the combo to the next level. I will say the nicest part about this space is that although it is very different from what it started as, it really wasn’t that big of an ordeal….well, compared to the other projects that were going on.

What Was Done:

-wallpapering the walls and ceiling (fun, right?)

-new slab, sink, fixtures, toilet

-change the fronts on the existing vanity, paint & add new hardware

-add a ceiling light fixture to soften the space

new mirror

It really is amazing that by making all of these changes even though nothing was ‘moved’ around, it feels so different. Although I do love everything about this space, one of my favorite things or what Cindy loves to call the ‘finishing touch’, is the LuLu & Georgia Alden Mirror that is hanging above the sink. This somewhat modern mirror really brought our entire transitional powder bathroom together. We loved the clean, modern lines of the mirror paired with the entire space. The LuLu & Georgia Alden Mirror really was the finishing touch of our powder bathroom.

You guys, we are so proud of the way this powder bathroom has turned out and I am so excited to continue to share other spaces of our home with you!
